Bufo marinus, the cane toad, was introduced to Australia in 1923 to eat cane beetles. It has since multiplied to become a serious danger to Australian wildlife as its poison gland make it immune to predators. It has now spread to all of northern Australia, including the Kimberley regions of Western Australia, and is the subject of massive ongoing efforts to eradicate it.
